New York Open Introduces Stem Education Day on Feb. 11
The Stem Education Day at the New York Open will take place on Tuesday, February 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering hundreds of middle school students throughout Long Island the opportunity to not enjoy enjoy the world-class tennis action on court, but will also engage in interactive STEM education programming, provided by Geekâ€™s Rule.
Students will participate in class from 10 a.m. until noon at the Coliseum via an interactive, problem-solving and team-oriented STEM curriculum. National Grid will provide volunteer assistance and serve as the presenting sponsor of the a STEM education pamphlet, which students can refer to.
From noon until 2 p.m, students will not only enjoy tennis on the signature black courts, but during various breaks and changeovers, will have interactive STEM messaging by way of PA announcements and jumbotron imaging.
